The Business Angel Summit brings together selected private investors with outstanding, innovative startups from Austria in the heart of the Austrian Alps, thus creating the best opportunities for the perfect match.

What is the goal?

The Business Angel Summit wants to team up outstanding Austrian know-how with private investors.

International Business Angels looking for first-class ideas and projects are brought together with promising Austrian startups in the fields of science, research and technology to make Austrian innovations an international success.

The Business Angel Summit is the best event in Western Austria to exchange knowledge and experiences in select company, to network with national & international partners and to establish future-oriented cooperation.

How does it work?

Austrian startups apply with their pitch deck for one of the Business Angel Summit’s starting places. From all submissions, the twelve most promising projects, which will present themselves exclusively in front of the audience and have the possibility to get in touch with investors, business angels and potential partners.

Potential investors get a personal up-to-the-minute insight into the current deal flow of innovations in the Austrian startup scene. Angel Investors get the chance to meet with high potential startups – offering new, innovative technologies and services as well as a major growth potential – and to invest in the best projects.

Startup teams looking for smart capital to realise their business concept benefit from selective, straightforward and personal access to first-class venture capitalists.

Criteria for the selection of the 12 TOP-startups

  • The product/service has already reached market maturity (at least first test customers)
  • There is a clearly recognizable unique selling proposition
  • The product/service is scalable and addresses a large and/or new market
  • The company has basic financing (e.g. through funding or own resources) 
  • The company is currently actively looking for an investor


Application deadline

Startups can apply until May 5, investors until July 1, 2024.

As the federal promotional bank, Austria Wirtschaftsservice Gesellschaft (aws) supports Austrian startu-ups and inovative entrepreneurs on the one hand by matching them with private investors (aws i2 Business Angels Austria) and on the other ahnd through the wide range of low-interest SME loans, start-up and technology grant and guarantees for start-ups and entrepreneurial growth, as well as the aws Gründerfonds. In addition, aws supports i2 Business Angels in their search for co-investors.
